A welcome message from W. Bro Mike Field, Worshipful Master, 2011/12.

Be you a visitor, member, prospective member, or member of another Lodge or fraternity, on behalf of the members of Ye Olde Bargate Lodge, I wish you a very warm and fraternal welcome to our web site.

I am looking forward to a fantastic twelve months ahead of me as Master of this fine Lodge.  I intend to take in as much as I can during my year, as I have been told that,  “This will be the fastest twelve months of your life”...  “It will be over before you know it”.  Well, that said, I can only take it one day at a time, and will enjoy every second of it.  I know I will learn and experience a lot of new things, I will meet a lot of new and interesting people, and this journey will take me to many new and interesting corners of the Province of Hampshire & Isle of Wight, and hopefully beyond.

If you are visiting this site as a Freemason, then enjoy, and if you would like to share any feedback, then feel free to drop me an email here.

If you are visiting this site from a search engine, then I would also recommend you visit these sites too. Follow the links to our  Provincial web site and the Grand Lodge of England web site.  There is plenty of good information on the internet, but there is also a lot of negative information too, but both these sites hold additional information that might also benefit your research.

If you are visiting this site with an interest in becoming a Freemason, then both the above web sites can help you in answering some of the questions and concerns you may have.  Becoming a Mason is an online document for you to review, or feel free to download it and review at your leisure.

For anyone wishing to visit our Lodge, we always enjoy the company of our visitors, whether they come from down the road, or across international waters.  Just drop me an email in plenty of time to cover the admin requirements, and you could look forward to receiving a very warm and fraternal welcome from the members of Ye Olde Bargate Lodge, and from our regular Lodgers and visitors too.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, and don’t be a stranger...

Kind regards

Mike Field

Quarterly Communications, Grand Lodge, December 14th, 2011.

My Wardens, the IPM, and I made the trip up to London for the Quarterly Communication meeting.  The meeting was very well attended, with many visitors from abroad.  After the meeting was over, we had a quick run around the local shops, then went to China Town for lunch.

Then a train back to Richmond, and headed straight for Salisbury, where we were booked in at Stonehenge Lodge for their Christmas Meeting, with brass band and carols included.  This years evening was every bit as good as last years, and rounded off another fantastic day in Freemasonry.  Only 12 months to wait for next years meeting hearty sing song...
